Abstract
- Heineken has boosted the capacity of its brewery bottling plant in Marseilles, France, by using Mead Packaging's new servo-driven multipack machines. Duodozen 1250 beverage packaging machines produce fully enclosed packs and Cluster-Pak 850 machines can pack four different kinds of bottles. The Mead multipack systems feature a computer-controlled servo motor design which enable them to considerably reduce the multipack changeover time compared to shaft-driven packaging machines.<br />When Mead Packaging introduced its Cluster-Pak 850 at the 1993 edition of Drinktec Interbrau, beverage operations expert John Peter Koss was, to say the least, duly impressed.
