Abstract
- An analysis of currents around the Kuril Islands and the outflow from the Okhotsk Sea was made from 1989 to 1992. Observations revealed that there was no major outflow to the Okhotsk Sea water from Bussol' Strait. It was also found that the subarctic water has already been combined with Okhotsk Sea water when the western subarctic arrives at the strait. The flow from Bussol' Strait is not a major force for the shift as assumed previously.
