Abstract: Small community pharmacies are becoming increasingly threatened by competition from the pharmacy services provided by large supermarkets. Suggestions for enticing customers back to local pharmacies include taking advantage of individual unique selling points such as location and reputation. Local pharmacists should also stock more complementary healthcare ranges such as vitamins and herbal products and reorganize shop layout to take advantage of associated goods and seasonal products.
