Demonstration and characterization of motilin-binding sites in the rabbit cerebellum

The presence of motilin receptors in the rabbit cerebellar tissue preparations was analyzed to characterize neural motilin receptors. Autoradiography or rabbit cerebellar tissue preparations indicated the presence of central motilin receptors or binding sites that was localized in the molecular layer of the cerebellar cortex. The binding sites exhibited the characteristics of true receptors with high-affinity for motilin binding which increases with elevations in protein concentration.
