Abstract
- A ringmaster in an English circus recounts her experiences. She details her love for the circus world and the way it combines life with art. The circus workers and their lives are described. Circus jobs, such as raising or lowering the main tent, are discussed. Her mother's mental deterioration after a tragic riding accident is described and its devastating effects upon the ringmaster and her siblings are related.
