Kuhn Abstract: Subacromial impingement syndrome is a common cause of shoulder pain. The purpose of this article is to review the clinical presentation, physical examination findings, and differential diagnosis of impingement syndrome. Using an evidence-based approach, we propose an algorithm for the management of subacromial impingement syndrome including indications for nonoperative management, advanced imaging, and operative management.
