SOD1, a new Kluyveromyces lactis helper gene for heterologous protein secretion

Abstract: The Kluyveromyces lactis superoxide dismutase 1(KlSOD1) and K. lactis CCS1 (KlCCS1) genes are isolated and the effect of their increased dosage on the secretion of heterologous proteins is evaluated. The results have shown that the production of some heterologous proteins is improved by manipulating genes involved in general stress responses.
