The ecology of sexual science: context and challenge

Abstract

Sexual science is comparable to an ecosystem where colleges and universities fall prey to attacks by predators composed of conservative legislators, limited grants, religious right and talk radio broadcasters, to name a few. Changes in the ecosystem weakens the sexual science infrastructure because of its dependence on the budgets, values and good fortune of higher educational enterprises. Ten recommendations to improve institutional relationships and the commitment for the advancement of higher education are discussed.<br />Ecology teaches about balance, 'interfaces,' boundaries, relationships, and interdependence.
