Abstract

Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy is used for studying sensory rhodopsin I from eubacterium Salinibacter ruber (SrSRI) and the spectral changes upon formation of the K and M intermediates. The structure and structural changes of SrSRI are discussed based on the infrared spectral comparisons with other rhodopsins.
