The Keystone State: Pennsylvania's new arenas lead the way

Pennsylvania's newest arenas are the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park and CoreStates Center in Philadelphia. The Bryce center, which opened in January 1996 and cost $55 million, already has been paid off with state and private financing. CoreStates Center, which opened in August 1996 and cost $210 million, is the home of three pro sports teams. The Pittsburgh Civic Arena, three facilities in Erie, Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Hersheypark Arena and other arenas are discussed.
