Abstract
- Dow Plastics is introducing a range of metallocene-catalyzed syndiotactic polystyrene (SPS) known as SPS crystalline polymers, named Questra. The new materials are described as high performance engineering resins and are made from aromatic monomers. The company is planning to build a commercial Questra plant, scheduled to become operational in early 1999. The SPS has a more regular syndiotactic arrangement than normal polystyrene and it has good resistance to chemicals, water and steam, suitable for use in injection-moulded electrical and electronic parts.
