Abstract

The role protein kinase C on the protein secretion in rat lacrimal gland was analyzed after the synthesis of N-myristoylated Myr-PKC-alpha-(15-28), Myr-PKC-delta-(15-28) and Myr-PKC-epsilon (142-153). Phorbol ester-mediated protein secretion in rat lacrimal gland was mediated by Myr-PKC-alpha (15-28) and Myr-PKC-epsilon (142-153). Furthermore, the three PKC isozymes are also utilized by cholinergic agonist during protein secretion.
