Abstract
- The Champion International Corp mill at Roanoke Rapids, NC, experienced operational problems in the precipitator in the early 1990s due to corrosion, and equipment replacement was considered the best solution. A 'turnkey' solution was adopted with new a new precipitator supplied by Environmental Elements Corp of Baltimore, MD. The project was a success with the use of tie-ins and working during regular maintenance outages.<br />Operation at champion international's mill in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., began in 1906.
