Abstract
- A black painter who grew up in a family of musicians recounts his experiences of how and why he started to paint. The tragedy he witnessed as a serviceman during the Vietnam war left him shocked. Working on many jobs and becoming homeless after the death of his mother, taught him to be humble. During his homelessness, he started painting jazz abstractions and portraits of jazz musicians. His paintings were displayed in arts gallery in 1992. His joining a South Hampton artists' association gave him the opportunity to present the Congo Square, which described the origination of jazz.
