Abstract

The planning and design of the Hythe Marina Village located in Southampton, UK, is described. This particular land development effort focused on the importance of maintaining the water availability in such a way that all houses within the area have access to the sea. The area has tightly integrated commercial, residential and recreational components which have been made possible through a high degree of cooperation between the public and private sectors.
