Abstract

A high correlation between both carpet dust levels and carpet surface dislodgeable residue levels and turf dislodgeable residue levels was gleaned from a measurement of the transport of lawn-applied herbicides into the home through walking over treated turf. Turf dislodgeable residues were 0.1% to 0.2% of turf application levels. Transfer efficiency of herbicides from turf to carpet dust was 3% of the turf dislodgeable residues, while transfer from turf to carpet surface was 0.3% of the turf dislodgeable residues.
