Abstract: The Canadian government learned several important lessons from its Investment Prospecting Program (IPP) to attract investments by European electronics firms. The program, which evolved into a difficult and complex process, involved the production and marketing of 'Prospecting Kits' featuring Canadian firms interested in strategic alliances. Altogether, it resulted in 78 interested parties.
