Abstract
- Implementing multiculturalism can help in retaining more Black and Hispanic students in predominantly white college and universities. Social, cultural and educational programs should be aimed at promoting community building and culture sharing opportunities. Appreciation of differences in heritage, values and languages together with respect for individual characteristics can help in increasing multicultural awareness. Administrators, faculty and students of minority cultures should be involved in decision-making processes.
