Abstract
- The MGMP staff-development project suggests that an instruction-level model for problem-centered curriculum, alternative academic skills, and an intensive coaching can develop a professional mathematics teacher. Time spent by the teacher on learning, and the quality of mentoring available will help the teachers in implementing the curriculum. The professional achievements of two teachers associated with the MGMP project are presented.
