Functional performance in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a qualitative analysis

People with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) vary widely in their functional performance. Functional status is related to the person's ability to meet basic needs, carry on their usual roles, and maintain their health. Some people with severe COPD are able to carry on their activities, while some with mild impairment find it difficult to do so.
