Abstract
- The renal activities of 10 healthy human volunteers were analyzed after exposure to inorganic mercury from amalgam fillings during dental treatment. Exposure of human subjects to inorganic mercury during amalgam removal did not produce any renal toxic effects. However, the concentrations of inorganic mercury increased in the plasma after amalgam removal but blood mercury levels and urinary excretion rate decreased two months after the treatment.
