Abstract

The asymptotic performance of the second-order ESPRIT, fourth-order ESPRIT and virtual ESPRIT (VESPA) algorithhm was assessed. Specifically, the asymptotic variance of the direction-of-arrival estimates derived by the least squares versions of the algorithms was analyzed under the assumption of a non-Gaussian signal. Second-order ESPRIT was found to be the best estimator based on the results and Monte Carlo simulations.
