Abstract

Alex Chan and Yan Cheung examined situational and cultural reasons for differences in the degree and scope of corporate governance across countries. The researchers found that more mature markets such as those found in the U.S. and the U.K. have more governance protection in place but these mattered less when the impact of other culture dimensions were taken into account.
