Abstract
- Stories tended to gather around the figure of Paul Tillich when he was teaching at Union Seminary in New York during the 1950s and in subsequent encounters. Tillich was a spellbinding teacher, influential as an apologetic theologian who propounded a version of 'crisis theology.' Many of the stories involve his heavily German-accented English. Tillich's views on art and his appreciation of sunsets are also discussed.
