Abstract

The solid-phase synthesis of tropane derivatives involves the use of a compound (2) derived from ethyl 3-alpha-hydroxy-8-azabicyclo(3.2.1)oct-6-ene-8-carboxylate. The reaction is palladium-mediated three-component coupling involving carbon-carbon bond formation. The synthesis involves the coupling of 2 to dihydropyran-functionalized polystyrene support, and the use of aryl halides, arylboronic acids or terminal acetylenes, and carboxylic acids or aldehydes.
