Abstract
- Calcium (Ca2+)-induced inhibition of renin secretion may be elicited by osmotic swelling of renin secretion granules and through the effects of Ca2+-calmodulin interaction on the myosin light chain kinase (MLCK). Herein, it is shown that inhibition of renin secretion by MLCK acts synergistically with osmotic swelling of renin secretory granules. The pathway is regulated by contractile actomyosin interaction.
