Abstract

A study aims to compare and establish the efficacy of drug-eluting stents as against bare-metal stents in the treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction. Results concluded that treatment with drug-eluting stents was found to result in decreased 2-year mortality rates as well as a reduced need for repeat revascularization procedures as compared to bare-metal stents.
