Abstract

An increase in insurance fraud is one of the concerns of Hong Kong's insurance industry in light of the colony's imminent handover to China in Jul. 1997. Insurance executives say there is rising incidence of fraud of all kinds as 1997 nears. Outright theft, leaking of business information, use of fraudulent documentation or counterfeit funds are among the more common kinds of fraud committed in the island.
