A critique of 'A Cultural Competency Guide: Competency Guidelines/Competency Scale' developed by Samella Abdullah

Samella Abdullah's 'A Cultural Competency Guide' provides researchers with a taxonomy for evaluating the development of cultural competency skills. A rating scale is also provided to determine the skills, attitudes, and knowledge related to cultural competency. Six levels of cultural competency ranging from the lowest to the highest are conceptualized. However, psychometric data to validate the competency, along with guidelines and scales, are not provided.
