Synthetic studies on enzomycins: stereoselective route to a thymine octosyl nucleoside derivative

The article explains a new approach for the synthesis of the bicyclic octosyl nucleoside derivative of the enzomycins, the antifungal natural products that belong to the complex peptidyl nucleoside family of antibiotics. The methodology is shown to be much more flexible and accurate, as compared to the conventional approaches.
