Abstract
- Christian ministers must be paragons of decorum in society. Although errant clerics do not reflect the whole Christian ministry, the public perceives them all as one. In the Old Testament, priests were set apart from the rest of the people. Ministers must therefore regulate their dealings with family and friends because of their spiritual duties. In the New Testament, Jesus condemned the scribes and the Pharisees because of their outward show of religiosity rather than inward righteousness.
