Abstract

A resolution ending most-favored trade (MFN) privileges for China was defeated by the House of Representatives on Jun 27, 1996, ending efforts to terminate low tariffs and market access. China has been accused by MNF opponents of transshipping textiles, stealing intellectual property, and violating human rights, and the House is seeking to investigate these charges.
