Ti(IV)-centered dynamic interconversion between Pd(II), Ti(IV)-containing ring and cage molecules

An interconvertible molecular system formed between heteronuclear Pd(II), Ti(IV)-containing ring- and cage-shaped complexes is reported. The quantitative interconversion is triggered by [Ti.sup.4+]-centered coordination changes between a Ti[(catecholato).sub.3] and a newly established TiH[(catecholato).sub.2](acac) structures.
