Abstract
- The article explains the traits and effects of the various diseases that are caused by the improper behavior of the prion protein in humans. The different physiological functions of the normal cellular protein, Pr[P.sup.c] are shown to lead to the several toxic phenotypes that are observed in the prion disease.
