Optical characterization of erbium doped LiNb[O.sub.3] poling properties

Abstract: The characteristics of the poling process of two samples of Er:LiNb[O.sub.3] grown by the Chzocralski technique is examined by comparing their optical properties. The results have that the erbium has caused a change of the coercive field value with respect to the pure congruent LiNb[O.sub.3] crystals and that the multidomain structure has affected the poling dynamics.
