Abstract
- Geopressure seals and hydrocarbon migration and accumulation are studied. The importance of these findings is that while the geopressure areas may not be large, they do contain a large amount of gas. Seals are believed to be dissolved gas transported to the shallower sediments of young, clastic basins. Temperature distribution determines the location of seals through numerical modelling.<br />The last decade has seen a growing interest in the subject of fluid pressure seals and fluid flow in hydrocarbon-bearing basins.
