Abstract

The first targeted disruption of a secondary metabolite gene in Metarhizium anisopliae by Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation (ATMT) is reported. The disruption facilitated the discovery of a new class of nonribosomal cyclic peptides called serinocyclins spore factor.
