The bigger picture

Children's literature and education have become interrelated, but schools do not have the sense of urgency in creating a book-loving culture. Picture books play an important role in developing such an environment, and they address the different kinds of relationships between adults and children. Ways to create a book-loving culture, along with a history of picture books, are given.
