Abstract
- The gltA and gltC genes, involved in the production of glutamate synthase in Bacillus subtilis, may be regulated by two consensus binding sites, Box I and Box II. Box I is involved in activation of gltA and autorepression of gltC. Box II is necessary for gltA activation. The location of the Boxes and the effects of inserting helical twists between them are discussed.
