Abstract
- There is a growing volume of evidence that employees in some private residential care homes are being treated very badly. In some cases, they have not been paid for many weeks, while in others they have been forced to undertake tasks for which they are not trained, such as administering medication. They are generally paid around 3-3.50 pounds sterling an hour, which is considerably lower than the minimum wage figure set by the TUC.
