Abstract

The High Field Laboratory for Superconducting Materials (HFLSM) and the Tsukuba Magnet Laboratory (TML) has conducted a case study on the development of a 50 T-class hybrid magnet. The 20 T superconducting coil is used as a 20 T outsert for a 25 T water-cooled resistive insert in order to obtain a 45 T hybrid magnet.
