Abstract
- The compact disc interactive (CD-i), introduced by Philips Media, is playing a major role in Scotland's education system. It works as a computer helping teachers and children in interactive learning, an entertainment system for playing video games, and allows access to Internet with an add-on. The Scottish Interactive Technology Centre (SITC) uses it in staff development programmes and in schools for children to color, compose and music-direct CD-i adventures. Despite its success in Scotland, English schools have reservations about it due to the poor availability of UK-specific titles.
