Abstract

The study employs the technique of sum frequency generation (SFG) imaging microscopy to analyze the reactions taking place between cyanide and gold at the solid-liquid interface. The continuous exposure of the gold film to cyanide is shown to lead to the formation of higher-coordinated gold-cyanide complexes.
