Abstract
- A standard ion-exchange technique was used for the fabrication of channel optical waveguides in novel Er-doped and Er-Yb co-doped ZnO-containing silicate glasses. Findings reveal the simulation of very large net optical gain for an ideal overlap of the pump and signal optical field in a glass containing at 3% of Er and no Yb.
