Abstract

Crystallographic characterization of tetra ligands of trialkyl trithiophosphite with copper reveals the presence of bidentate coordination in these isostructural copper complexes through phosphorus and sulphur atoms of thiophosphites. Polymeric chains are formed during the coordination. In copper(I) monobromide complexes of triiospropyl trithiophosphite and acetonitrile monodentate, coordination occurs through phosphorus atoms. A reaction between copper(I) and trialkyl trithiophosphite produces 1:1 adducts which on subsequent recrystallization produces desired copper complexes.
