Abstract

Canadian petroleum and gas exports to the US reached record volumes during the onset of winter 1995. However, inadequate pipeline capacity, coupled with continued low prices, have depressed revenues for many Canadian petroleum and gas companies. These events have dampened corporate interest in new government land sales in 1995 and have forced many Canadian companies to reconsider earlier exploration plans.<br />Winter's early onslaught normally would put smiles on the faces of Canadian oilmen.
