As buyers hit Paris, designers prepare a feast of fashion

Fashion designers are preparing to display their autumn collections at 90 shows between March 11 and 20, 1996 in Paris. Designers have drawn inspiration from the most wide-ranging and disparate themes in 1996, spanning the exotic and the serious, the austere and the ornate, the casual and the formal, ethnocentric looks, and bright as opposed to subdued colors. Some of the designers who will be showing off their wares include Lagerfeld, Chanel, Chloe, Christian Lacroix, Givenchy, Ungaro, Valentino, Christian Dior, Cerruti, Sonia Rykiel, Herve Leger, Celine, and Van Noten.
