Abstract
- The chloride ion channels responsible for the absorption of sodium chloride in the medullary thick ascending limb (MTAL) of mice are found in the basolateral cells of the thick ascending vesicles. Comparisons of chloride channel properties from the MTAL and the channels derived from basolateral membranes of the outer medullary vesicles in rabbits found the same open probability for chloride ions in both, as well as similar responses to the antidiuretic hormone.
