Mapping of beta-1,2-linked oligomannosidic epitopes among glycoconjugates of Candida species

Abstract: A study shows that glycoconjugates of Candida albicans serotypes A and B and C. tropicalis consist of beta-1,2-linked oligomannosidic epitopes on a 14-18 kDa polydisperse antigen. High molecular mass, above 100 kDa, polydisperse ConA-reactive mannoproteins have partial link with beta-1,2-linked oligomannosidic epitopes, in C. albicans. Details of the study conducted, by Western blotting, on various Candida species are given.
