Abstract

A partially-corporate feed is introduced to realize antennas with a larger bandwidth, by reducing the long line effect associated with the long feed waveguide. In this paper, a four-way divider is proposed to satisfy all the design requirements such as desired ratio of power division, proper phase transmission to the output ports and sufficient suppression of reflection. To confirm the band-widening effect of the partially-corporate feed structure, two 32 by 8 element array antennas with conventional series feed and partially-corporate feed are fabricated for comparison. Measurement results show that the partially-corporate feed reduces the long line effect to a half, and broadens the bandwidth of directivity to 1.5 times of the conventional series feed. Index Terms--Alternating-phase feed, corporate feed, dividers, single-layer, slotted waveguide arrays.
